Privacy Policy
Summary: JEE2U collects your email, name, academic profile, and chat history to personalise AI responses. Your data is processed by Google Gemini and Groq to generate replies. We do not sell your data. You can request deletion at any time by emailing us.
1. Who we are
JEE2U ("we", "our", "us") is an AI-powered JEE preparation mentor service operated from India. We are the Data Fiduciary for the personal data described in this policy under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDPA).

2. Who this service is for
JEE2U is intended solely for individuals aged 18 years and above who are actively preparing for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE). By accepting this Privacy Policy, you confirm that you are 18 years of age or older and are preparing for JEE.
We do not knowingly collect or process personal data of individuals under 18 years of age. If we become aware that we have collected data from a person under 18 without appropriate consent, we will delete it promptly.
3. What personal data we collect
- Identity data: Your Google account email address and display name, collected via Google Sign-In.
- Academic profile: Class level (11th / 12th / Dropper), JEE target year, study mode (online / offline / self-study), mock test score ranges for Physics, Chemistry, and Maths.
- Derived profile fields: Urgency band, performance band, weak subjects list, and months remaining to JEE — computed from your academic profile to personalise responses.
- Chat history: Every message you send and every AI-generated response you receive.
- Session data: Session titles, timestamps, and feedback ratings (thumbs up/down, star ratings).
- Consent record: The date and time you accepted this Privacy Policy.
4. Why we collect it and legal basis
We collect and process your data for the following purpose: to personalise AI mentor responses to your specific JEE preparation stage, academic strengths, and weaknesses.
Legal basis under DPDPA 2023: Your explicit consent, given by checking the consent box at sign-in. You may withdraw consent at any time (see Section 8).
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling for commercial purposes, or any purpose other than delivering the JEE2U service to you.
5. Who receives your data (third parties)
Your personal data is shared with the following Data Processors who act on our instructions:

Your data is transferred to and processed in the United States. These transfers are necessary to provide the service. We have accepted the Data Processing Agreements of each provider listed above.
We do not sell, rent, or share your data with any other third party.
6. Data retention
- Chat history and session data: Retained for 12 months from your last activity on the platform.
- Academic profile: Retained until you request deletion of your account.
- Consent record: Retained for as long as your account exists, as a legal record of your consent.
After the retention period, data is permanently deleted from our database.
7. Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data, including:
- HTTPS encryption for all data in transit
- HTTP-only, signed authentication cookies
- Row-level security on our database
- Hashed user identifiers (your email is never stored in plain text)
In the event of a personal data breach that is likely to affect your rights, we will notify you and the Data Protection Board of India without undue delay and within 72 hours of becoming aware of the breach.
8. Your rights under DPDPA 2023
As a Data Principal under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you have the following rights:
- Right to information: Request a summary of personal data we hold about you and details of processing activities.
- Right to correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal data.
- Right to erasure: Request deletion of your personal data and account. We will erase all data within 30 days of a verified request.
- Right to withdraw consent: Withdraw your consent to data processing at any time. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal. Note: withdrawal means you will no longer be able to use JEE2U.
- Right to grievance redressal: Raise a complaint with our Grievance Officer (see Section 10).

9. Cookies and tracking
We use a single HTTP-only authentication cookie (jee2u_auth) that expires in 14 days. This cookie is used solely to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics cookies.
We use Google Fonts and Material Symbols for interface typography, which may result in requests to Google's servers when you load the page.

11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of JEE2U after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
